Our February Cash in for Schools winner is ready to put our $2,500 grant to use on a variety of projects across the school. “Everyone here at Parkview works very hard day in and day out for the kids,” said principal Randy Guthmiller. “To find another way to meet kids’ needs and get things in the classroom that help our teachers be more successful — it’s always fun.”Parkview Heights Elementary in La Vista received the $2,500 grant from KETV and Thrasher Foundation Repair to support various classroom projects.The grant will fund three projects at the school: flexible seating for preschoolers, emotional regulation kits, and new percussion tools for music education. “For some kids, that’s the reason they like coming to school is for those specials classes: music and PE,” said music teacher Erica Wasson. “Music is all encompassing – it’s math, it’s music, it’s language – it’s every part of the brain.”This grant will impact all of the roughly 400 students at Parkview Heights. “Thank you to both KETV and Thrasher Foundation Repair,” Guthmiller said. “This is a fantastic opportunity and I’m so excited for our staff at Parkview Heights.” Cash in for Schools will be back for the 2026-2027 school year!
