A stretch of Harney Street closes as streetcar work continues
AT INTERSTATE 480. THINGS MOVING FINE UNDER THIS FARNAM STREET REBUILD. OF COURSE, THAT FARNAM BRIDGE REBUILD IS FOR STREETCAR WORK, AND TODAY MORE STREETCAR WORK IS GOING TO CAUSE A FULL CLOSURE OF HARNEY STREET. SPECIFICALLY, IT’S HARNEY FROM 17TH TO 19TH STREETS GOING TO COMPLETELY CLOSE. SO TO GET AROUND THIS, YOU’LL HAVE TO HEAD NORTH AND USE EITHER DODGE TO GO WESTBOUND OR DOUGLAS TO HEAD EASTBOUND. NOW THIS FULL CLOSURE IS EXPECTED TO LAST THREE WEEKS, ACCORDING TO THE CITY, BUT CONSTRUCTION ON THAT STRETCH IS GOING TO LAST MONTHS. AND THIS ISN’T ALL. ALSO, STARTING TODAY, THERE ARE LANE RESTRICTIONS IN THESE TWO ZONES. 28TH STREET BETWEEN DODGE AND HARNEY AND 31ST BETWEEN HARNEY AND DEWEY. NOW THESE ARE BOTH ONLY EXPECTED TO TAKE ONE WEEK, BUT OF COURSE THERE IS SO MUCH STREETCAR CONSTRUCTION ALL AROUND THE METRO AND YOU HAVE QUESTIONS ABOUT THAT.
