A University of Alabama student has been reported missing while visiting friends who are studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain.James “Jimmy” Gracey, who is from Elmhurst, Illinois, according to WMAQ, was last seen by a friend around 3 a.m. Tuesday at Shôko, a beachfront nightclub, his mother said in a series of social media posts. A friend who had been with him left the venue, but Gracey stayed behind.Gracey did not return to the Airbnb where he was staying, his mother said. She added that police are in possession of his phone, though authorities have not provided official details on how it was recovered.Gracey was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, dark pants and a gold chain with a rhinestone cross.A spokesperson for the University of Alabama told sister station WVTM that school officials are in contact with his family.“James Paul Gracey is a UA student on a personal trip. UA staff are in touch with the family and those associated with them to offer support and assistance in any way possible,” the statement said.
