Animal rescue offers Valentine’s Day fundraiser to neuter cats named after exes
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa is hosting a Valentine’s Day fundraiser called “Neuter Your Ex,” allowing donors to name a feral cat after an ex and support spay/neuter programs. For a $15 donation, participants can name a feral cat after their ex, which will then be spayed or neutered and released through the organization’s trap-neuter-return (TNR) program to stop the breeding cycle.The fundraiser offers a chance to give an ex a proper sendoff, heal hearts and help control the community cat population. For those with multiple exes, the organization provides options to submit five names for $50 or 15 names for $100.To neuter an ex, donors can visit the rescue league’s website until Feb. 14, make a donation, and include their ex’s name, using first names or nicknames only.
