QUANECIA TO THE STUDENTS AND THE TEACHERS AND MARTIAL ARTS INTERNATIONAL IN BELLEVUE SERGEANT FIRST CLASS NOAH TIETJENS IS A PART OF A FAMILY TONIGHT HONORING HIS LEGACY ON THE MAT. IN THE SILENCE AND THE STRENGTH COMMUNITY FILLED THE FLOOR, ALL HONORING SERGEANT FIRST CLASS NOAH TIETJENS. TIME IS SOMETHING WE CAN NEVER TAKE BACK WHEN IT’S GIVEN. AND TONIGHT I REALLY APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERYBODY’S TIME TO COME DOWN HERE AND BE PART OF THIS VERY SIMPLE, INVITATION ONLY EVENT THAT HONORS ONE OF OUR BROTHERS. AGENTS BEGAN TRAINING IN MARTIAL ARTS BEFORE HIS FIRST DEPLOYMENT AS PART OF THE ARMY RESERVES. HE WAS AN ABSOLUTE LIKE A LEAD BY EXAMPLE GUY. HE RECEIVED HIS BLACK BELT IN PHILIPPINE COMBATIVES AND TAEKWONDO AND WAS AN INSTRUCTOR AT MARTIAL ARTS INTERNATIONAL. TONIGHT WE CELEBRATE HIS LIFE. WE CELEBRATE HIS LIFE AND WE CONTINUE THAT LIFE AND WE HOLD ON TO THIS LIFE. TO CONTAIN AND TO MOVE FORWARD WITH MR. NOAH’S LEGACY. THURSDAY WOULD HAVE BEEN HIS 43RD BIRTHDAY. TIETJENS, HIS WIFE AND HIS SON ALL PRACTICED AT THE STUDIO. WE ALSO WANT TO DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO GIVE THEM SUPPORT AND A SENSE OF NORMALCY. The martial arts community honored one of its own Thursday, in a private candlelight vigil hosted by Martial Arts International, the studio where Sgt. First Class Noah Tietjens was a student and instructor.Teachers and students practiced on the floor before lighting candles with Tietjens’ friends and loved ones. “Time is something you can never take back but it’s given. And tonight, I really appreciate each and everybody’s time to come down here and be part of this very simple, invitation-only event that honors one of our brothers,” Grand Master Julius Melegrito said.Tietjens received black belts in Philippine Combatives and Taekwondo between deployments with the United States Army Reserves.
