A Bennington family is displaced after a Wednesday night house fire.Firefighters arrived on the scene near 156th and Ida streets around 11 p.m.Officials say the fire began in the garage, where large flames could be seen, then spread into the attic of the home.Bennington Fire Chief Dan Mallory told Omaha’s News Leader that everyone inside the home, including a cat, made it out safely.It took about 20 minutes to put out the flames.The Red Cross is helping the family because smoke in the home caused the house to be unlivable.The cause of the fire is under investigation.
