A crash has closed part of Interstate 80.According to a social media post from Nebraska 511, the crash is on westbound I-80 at mile marker 421 near Greenwood.The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said as crews were responding to multiple crashes along the interstate, an emergency vehicle was hit.The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said they are working to close the interstate between the Ashland/Greenwood exit and the Mahoney State Park exit.Drivers are urged to avoid the area.”If you do not absolutely need to travel, stay home. Reducing traffic right now helps prevent additional crashes and allows first responders to reach people who truly need emergency assistance. J.D. Green, a tow truck driver from Springfield, said he saw over 20 cars as he surveyed the damage.”Interstate was shut down. So I kind of had to go around the barricade. But visibility was very crappy. There was points where I almost couldn’t see where I was going. I pulled up behind the ambulance as he was getting to the scene, and I almost lost sight of him, and he was only 30 yards ahead of me,” Green said.KETV spoke to one passenger in a vehicle in the pileup.”We got closer, and then we saw these car boom, boom. And then there was another one in the side that threw themselves.
