THIS WORKS AND WHY THEY WANT TO BRING THIS TO YOUR CHILD’S SCHOOL. WELL, LAW ENFORCEMENT CAN’T BE EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE. THAT’S WHY CAMPUS GUARDIAN ANGEL WANTS TO IMPLEMENT DRONES INSIDE SCHOOLS TO PREVENT ACTIVE SHOOTERS. WE WANT TO BE KNOWN AS THE FIRST ACTIVE THREAT SUPPRESSION SYSTEM. WHILE THEY’RE NOT IN OKLAHOMA JUST YET, CAMPUS GUARDIAN ANGEL IS A NEW ON SITE SAFETY SERVICE THAT USES DRONE TECHNOLOGY AND PARTNERS WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT TO CONFRONT ACTIVE SHOOTERS COMING IN AND DOING A 3D SCAN OF LOCATION AND EMBEDDING THE CAMERAS INSIDE OF THE LOCATION, WHICH GIVES US SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. OUR USERS GET AN APP THAT GIVES US GEO LOCATION WHEN THEY SEE A THREAT INSIDE THE SCHOOL, AND THAT HELPS US SHRINK THIS MASSIVE SCHOOL INTO A MANAGEABLE PROBLEM. KOCO GOT A FIRSTHAND LOOK AT SOME OF THE TRAINING AND HOW THEY DETER SHOOTERS. AT A DEMONSTRATION HELD AT DEER CREEK EDUCATION CENTER WEDNESDAY. OUR GOAL IS TO CHEW UP THAT TIME IT TAKES FROM A SHOOTING AND AN OFFICER RESPONDING. SO DEPENDING ON THE SIZE OF THE SCHOOL, YOU KNOW, AN OFFICER COULD BE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CAMPUS WHEN THE SHOOTING HAPPENS. AND ALL THE DATA SUGGESTS THAT MOST OF THE KILLING HAPPENS WITHIN THE FIRST TWO MINUTES, WHEN THEY IDENTIFY THAT THREAT, THEY COMMUNICATE WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT AND RESPOND WITH THE DRONES INSIDE THE SCHOOLS. THOSE DRONES THEN ACTIVATE AND HAVE TWO WAY RADIOS TO INTERACT WITH THE SHOOTER. IF THEY’RE NOT COMPLIANT, THEY HAVE GEL BASED PEPPER SPRAY TO DETER THEM. WHILE THEY’RE ONLY IMPLEMENTED IN PILOT PROGRAMS IN SCHOOLS IN FLORIDA SO FAR, THEY’RE HOPING TO COME TO EVERY SCHOOL IN THE U.S. THIS IS OUR FIRST DEMO IN THE OKLAHOMA AREA, AND WE’RE A NEW COMPANY, AND WE’RE EXCITED ABOUT WHAT WE’VE BEEN BUILDING. AND THE MORE PEOPLE THAT CAN SEE IT, THE BETTER. SO WE’RE JUST EXCITED TO BE HERE IN OKLAHOMA, AND IT’S BEEN A VE

A Texas-based company is working to implement drones inside classrooms to prevent school shootings by partnering with law enforcement to confront active threats. “We want to be known as the first active threat suppression system,” Khristof Oborski, director of tactical operations, said. Campus Guardian Angel uses drone technology to conduct a 3-D scan of the location and embed cameras, providing situational awareness. Users receive an app that offers geo-location data when a threat is detected, helping to manage the situation effectively.”Our goal is to chew up that time it takes from a shooting to an officer responding. So, depending on the size of the school, an officer can be on the other side of the campus when the shooting happens, and our data suggest the killing happens in the first two minutes,” Oborski said. Once a threat is identified, the company communicates with law enforcement and deploys drones inside the schools. These drones are equipped with two-way radios to interact with the shooter and, if necessary, use gel-based pepper spray to deter them. “This is our first demo in the Oklahoma area, and we’re a new company, and we’re excited about what we’ve been building, and the more people that can see it, the better. We’re excited to be here in Oklahoma, and it’s been an overwhelming and positive response,” Oborski said.Campus Guardian Angel is currently implemented in pilot programs in Florida schools and hopes to expand its reach to every school in the U.S.
