KETV NEWSWATCH SEVEN’S MADDIE AUGUSTINE HAS THE LATEST FROM THOSE HEADED TO THE FRONT LINES, AND THOSE JUST GETTING HOME. EDDIE AND JULIE. ROUGHLY 400 FIREFIGHTERS FROM ALL ACROSS THE STATE ARE ASSISTING IN THE EFFORT TO GET THESE FIRES UNDER CONTROL. MANY OF THEM ARE VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS, AND ANOTHER GROUP FROM DOUGLAS COUNTY JUST LEFT TODAY. 18 FIRE CREW MEMBERS AND SIX TRUCKS FROM DOUGLAS COUNTY WILL SPEND SEVEN DAYS IN CENTRAL AND WESTERN NEBRASKA. SOME OF IT’S BY CELL PHONE, SOME OF IT’S BY RADIO. THAT WAS CHECKED OUT TO US THAT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE THE REACH THAT WE’RE USED TO. AND AS YOU HEARD, METEOROLOGIST BILL REMY, JUST A FEW MOMENTS AGO, FIRE CREWS ARE GOING TO BE ON ALERT THIS WEEKEND FOR THE INCREASED RISK OF MORE FIRE DANGER, AS TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO PEAK AROUND 90 DEGREES WITH A SINGL
