OF WATER. WETLANDS FILTER OUT CONTAMINANTS AND NUTRIENTS. NEW AT SIX. STUDENTS IN WAUKEE ARE PUTTING IN HOURS WHILE PAYING IT FORWARD. THE BRAND NEW WATERFORD SPORTING GOODS STORE IS NOW OPEN. THIS IS REALLY NEAT. IT’S LED ENTIRELY BY THESE FOURTH GRADERS. PRIOR TO OPENING, THEY DESIGNED POSTERS AND RECORDED COMMERCIALS IN ORDER TO WORK AT THE STORE. STUDENTS HAD TO APPLY AND EVEN GO THROUGH THE INTERVIEW PROCESS. WE CREATED A JOB APPLICATION AND THEN HAD A LOT OF STUDENTS THAT WERE INTERESTED IN WORKING FOR THE STORE APPLY, AND THEN WE CHOSE SOME OF THE STUDENTS TO DO IN-PERSON INTERVIEWS, AND WE ENDED UP HIRING EIGHT AWESOME FOURTH GRADERS THAT WORK IN THE STORE, OPEN.
