Ahead of the start of this year’s Super Bowl, punk rock icon Green Day took the stage during the Big Game’s opening ceremony to celebrate 60 years of the Super Bowl.The trio performed some of their biggest hits to help usher generations of Super Bowl MVPs onto the field. Present during the introduction were Steve Young, Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Brandi Carlile sang “America the Beautiful,” and Coco Jones performed “Lift Every Voice and Sing.”Puerto Rican global megastar Bad Bunny will perform the Halftime Show this year, leaving much mystery for viewers as to what to expect other than a “big party,” as he stated in a Thursday news conference teasing his 13-minute performance.Super Bowl LX will take place at Levi’s Stadium in the Bay Area of California, airing on NBC. Kickoff is at 6:30 p.m. ET Sunday.Sunday’s performance will be the first time Green Day has ever played at the Super Bowl.
