STARTS WITH BREAKING NEWS AND THAT BREAKING NEWS COMES FROM SOUTH OMAHA, WHERE GUNSHOTS SEND PEOPLE AT THE CINCO DE MAYO FESTIVAL RUNNING. LET’S GET RIGHT TO KETV NEWSWATCH SEVEN’S MADDIE AUGUSTINE LIVE NEAR 24TH AND EL MADI. ROB, WE HAD A PHOTOGRAPHER ON SCENE MOMENTS AFTER THE GUNFIRE. HE WAS HERE COVERING THE FESTIVAL IN ITS LAST DAY. HE TELLS ME PEOPLE WENT RUNNING UMMEED SHORTLY AFTER THOSE SHOTS RANG OUT. POLICE ARRIVED ON SCENE QUICKLY SINCE THEY HAVE AN INCREASED PRESENCE IN SOUTH OMAHA FOR THIS EVENT. THIS WEEKEND, INVESTIGATORS ARE FOCUSING ON DIFFERENT AREAS, SAYING THERE ARE TWO POSSIBLE SCENES AT THIS TIME. THEY HAVE THE ENTIRE YEHOVAH’S PARKING LOT ON THE CORNER OF 24TH AND EL TAPED OFF, AS WELL AS A PORTION OF THE WALGREENS PARKING LOT DIRECTLY ACROSS THE STREET. THEY ADD. THEY HAVE FOUND SHELL CASINGS, BUT HAVE NOT CONFIRMED IF ANYONE WAS HIT BY THE GUNFIRE. INVESTIGATORS TELL US THEY HAVE MULTIPLE SUSPECTS IN CUSTODY, BUT THEY HAVE NOT SAID IF ANYONE IS UNDER ARREST. POLICE HAVE SAID THE SCENE IS SECURE AND THERE IS NO THREAT TO THE PUBLIC. THE FESTIVAL IS SET TO CONTINUE UNTIL 930. TONIGHT.
