RESISTED ARREST. NO WORD ON THE IDENTITY OF THE SUSPECT. TURNING NOW TO WEST LEBANON, NEW HAMPSHIRE — WHERE POLICE ARE LOOKING FOR A MAN WHO THEY SAY STOLE A CASHBOX FROM A LOCAL GIRL SCOUT TROOP. A man is accused of stealing a Girl Scouts cash box that contained about $1,000 outside a Walmart in New Hampshire Thursday.Lebanon police said they have identified the suspect, but have not yet released the suspect’s name to the public.Kate Eads Galdieri said she and her daughter were getting ready to wrap up sales when the man said, “Sorry,” grabbed the box from the cookie sales table, and ran. Galdieri said the troop takes precautions during sales.”We’re very aware,” she said. “We have like a big, chunky cash box, so it’s hard to grab, we keep it kinda in the middle of us. Also, who steals from Girl Scouts?”The cash box was later recovered in the woods, but the money was missing, police said. Police said a K-9 team tracked the man to the parking lot of a nearby liquor store, and surveillance video showed him getting into a white Jeep Grand Cherokee. Police released surveillance images of the man.Officials said the suspect has not been arrested and does not live in New Hampshire.Lebanon police said they are in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant.
