The Metropolitan Area Planning Agency (MAPA) has submitted several projects for federal transportation funding.The projects would be part of the 2027-2032 Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP). Among the list of projects MAPA is requesting federal funding for is Streetcar Mobility Hubs. “The concept is to be intentional with our connections to and from the streetcar stops and other modes of transportation, such as bus routes, parking, bikeshare, and scooters. The (funding) application is to help with additional wayfinding signage to help direct passengers among all the various forms of transportation near streetcar stops,” Streetcar Operations Manager Eric Miller said.The city is looking at 37th and Farnam, 34th and Farnam, 24th and Harney/Farnam, and Eighth and Douglas as potential mobility hub locations.The grant request for mobility hubs is $136,000.Other funding requests include:● Papillion Active Mobility Plan, City of Papillion — $160,000● eMoto Policy Planning, Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District — $60,000● Regional Roundabout Feasibility & Implementation, City of Omaha — $220,000● Old Lincoln Highway Trail Connection Study, City of Omaha — $80,000● Meigs Street Corridor Study, City of Valley — $200,000● Regional Household Travel Survey – MAPA — $400,000The public is welcome to give their input on these applications for federal transportation funding.
