Acting as an open-air museum, we discovered *** place here in Milan that has just one requirement, be respectful. It welcomes more than 100,000 tourists *** year. Built on what was once the outskirts of the city center, Monumental Cemetery in Milan is *** resting place for some of Italy’s icons and titans of industry. It’s very important for our culture, for our history. And so it’s very, it’s *** very important place not only for Milan but for Italy. It opened in 1866 and is noted for its abundance of classical Italian sculptures, artistic tombs, and monuments. It’s *** bit different from where I’m from, and we don’t have things like this now in the US. States above-ground cemeteries are very rare. Only in *** city like New Orleans are they prevalent. But here in Europe, especially in Italy, they are far more common. But they’re not all this grand. Every corner here tells *** story and is filled with intricate details that reflect the aspirations and beliefs of past eras. Yeah, it was. Literally amazing.
