WEDNESDAY BEFORE RETURNING TO CHICAGO. WELL, IT’S TIME TO BREAK OUT A BOOK OR TWO. TODAY IS READ ACROSS AMERICA DAY. IN FACT, NEBRASKA IS HITTING THE BOOKS TODAY. MCKENZY GREGORY VISITED WHEELER ELEMENTARY THAT’S NEAR 120TH AND HARRISON. SHE READ TO STUDENTS THERE. GREGORY SAYS IT’S ALL ABOUT BOOSTING LITERACY AND ESTABLISHING A LOVE FOR LEARNING. IF I CAN PLAY THAT ONE SMALL ROLE IN NOT ONLY BRIGHTENING THEIR THEIR DAY, BUT ALSO MAKING THEM SEE A POSSIBILITY FOR THEMSELF, MAYBE SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE. MAYBE IT’S NOT A MISS NEBRASKA, BUT SEEING THAT POSSIBILITY FOR THEMSELVES THAT THEY CAN ACHIEVE THOSE DREAMS AND THEY CAN REACH FOR THOSE GOALS THAT THEY HAVE IN THEIR IN THEIR MIND. GREGORY SAYS READING 20 MINUTES A DAY MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE. SHE IS ENCOURAGING EVERYONE TO GET INVOLVED.
