Multiple cities have declared snow emergencies for a forecasted winter storm that’s expected to bring heavy snow to parts of Nebraska and Iowa.The city of Council Bluffs’ snow emergency will go into effect at 7 p.m. on Thursday and will run through 7 p.m. on Friday.This means there will be no parking allowed on streets that have been declared as emergency snow routes. These routes are posted with a blue “Emergency Snow Route” sign.Those who park in the routes during a snow emergency are subject to a fine and/or towing.Click here to see the map of the routes affected.The City of Yutan has also declared a snow emergency, which will run from 10 a.m. on Thursday through 10 a.m. on Friday.No parking will be allowed on city streets during this time, and drivers may be ticketed or have their vehicles towed.Residents are also expected to clear a three-foot radius around any fire hydrants to help the fire department in case of emergency.The City of Blair has also issued a snow emergency.
