The couple accused of killing a 27-year-old man and his pregnant wife appeared in court on Thursday. According to court documents, on Jan. 16, police found a silver 2009 Chevy Trailblazer engulfed in flames, and upon further investigation, it was found to be Hannah Neville’s vehicle. Court documents said on Jan. 28, Lincoln police were made aware of a missing person’s report filed by Neville’s roommate, who claimed she hadn’t seen Neville since she went to pick up her husband, Roberto Tanner, from Lincoln. James, according to court documents, said he received concerning messages from his brother on Jan. 15, and when he came home from dinner to check on Tanner, Tanner “made a reference to going to get a gun.”Court records said Sterling claimed Tanner was then picked up by someone in a dark SUV.Neville’s roommate was able to track down the whereabouts of Neville’s phone using Life360 and found it traveled to numerous places from Jan. 15 to Jan. 16. According to court documents, Life360 showed her phone ended up in the Lincoln landfill on the 16th.Court documents said a witness came forward on Feb. 1, stating they saw James with a woman in the early hours of Jan. 16, and they also saw a deceased woman lying on the ground. The witness alleged the deceased woman was put inside an SUV before it left the property. According to court documents, a witness told police that James admitted to shooting Tanner several times and Neville twice. The witness, according to court records, alleged James also admitted to burying the bodies as well as setting Neville’s vehicle on fire. Court documents also said the witness claimed James admitted that Titus helped him clean up after the shooting and then dig up the bodies and re-bury them in a different location. Court documents said the witness’ statements were “consistent with electronic evidence” that they had collected throughout the investigation. James has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, murder of an unborn child, and tampering with physical evidence. During the search for for Neville and Tanner, Lincoln police said they recovered human remains. According to LPD, investigators cannot confirm the number of individuals or their identities at this time. According to court documents, on Jan. 16, police found a silver 2009 Chevy Trailblazer engulfed in flames, and upon further investigation, it was found to be Hannah Neville’s vehicle.

Court documents said on Jan. 28, Lincoln police were made aware of a missing person’s report filed by Neville’s roommate, who claimed she hadn’t seen Neville since she went to pick up her husband, Roberto Tanner, from Lincoln. The roommate also added that Neville has not been on social media since Jan. 15, “which was unlike her.”

Lincoln police started investigating, and according to court documents, investigators contacted Sterling James, who is Tanner’s half-brother. James, according to court documents, said he received concerning messages from his brother on Jan. 15, and when he came home from dinner to check on Tanner, Tanner “made a reference to going to get a gun.”

Court records said Sterling claimed Tanner was then picked up by someone in a dark SUV.

Neville’s roommate was able to track down the whereabouts of Neville’s phone using Life360 and found it traveled to numerous places from Jan. 15 to Jan. 16. According to court documents, Life360 showed her phone ended up in the Lincoln landfill on the 16th.

James has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, murder of an unborn child, and tampering with physical evidence.

During the search for for Neville and Tanner, Lincoln police said they recovered human remains.

According to LPD, investigators cannot confirm the number of individuals or their identities at this time. Police are awaiting DNA or dental records to positively identify the remains.
