It’s Nebraska Public Transit Week, a statewide celebration honoring all the benefits public transit providers bring across the state. On Tuesday, KETV hopped on a bus to support the cause. Omaha Mayor John Ewing Jr. and Metro Transit CEO Lauren Cencic were on board as the bus headed down Route 18 Tuesday morning. Metro Transit provided more than 3.5 million rides on its routes and more than 88,000 paratransit trips in 2025.
