IN WASHINGTON, CHRISTOPHER SALAS KETV NEWSWATCH 7 IN THE NEBRASKA LEGISLATURE TODAY, SENATOR MEGAN HUNT CLAIMS A FELLOW SENATOR MADE AN INAPPROPRIATE COMMENT TO HER DURING DEBATE. AND HE LOOKED AT ME IN THE EYES AND HE GOES SLOWLY, YOU’RE GETTING REALLY, REALLY WET. JUST IN THAT TONE. AND WITH THAT AFFECTION. AND I SAID, WHAT? I SAID, EXCUSE ME, I’M GETTING WET. A Nebraska state senator called out her colleague for an alleged inappropriate comment.Omaha Sen. Megan Hunt said State Sen. Brian Hardin made a potentially sexual remark when discussing an amendment, but Hardin said he never made the remark. “He looked at me in the eyes, and he goes slowly, ‘You’re getting really, really wet.’ Just in that tone and with that affection. And I said, ‘What?’ I said, ‘Excuse me? I’m getting wet?’ And he says, ‘When you bring the thunder, you’re going to get wet,'” Hunt said. “That’s 180 degrees away from reality. So that is not what this was about at all. This was her coming, and she was trying to solicit some kind of a reaction over her failed argument. And I said, ‘Look, you brought the thunder; it’s going to rain,'” Hardin said. Hunt and Sen. Machaela Cavanaugh called on the legislature’s executive board to address the situation.
