Nike introduces inflatable jacket for Team USA at Milan Cortina Olympics

I’ll get right to the point, it’s *** jacket you can blow up, and while you ask how or why, Daniel Ikeimbe from Nike will explain what this is all about. You’re able to take *** jacket that looks like *** windbreaker when it’s deflated, but when you add air to it, you’re able to take it all the way up to *** midweight puffer. You actually just have one garment that’s able to meet all of those insulation needs at the push of *** button. There we go. So, here’s the how that rechargeable pump, it comes with it, and it takes about 30 seconds to fully inflate. It feels like *** totally different coat now, just as easily as it inflates. So that’s *** quick release. This one here, quick release, but this one releases all the air. All right, well, let’s just do it. OK, let’s see what I can do. How about that right back to normal, right back to normal. So you know the question that people are gonna ask. How much does this cost? Well, we don’t know yet. OK, so this specific one you can’t buy. So this is specifically, uh, being gifted to Team USA. So we’re really excited that we’re able to offer that. And then obviously, yes, we will eventually also be retailing. On the road to Milan Cortina, I’m Jason Newton.

Nike has unveiled an innovative inflatable jacket for Team USA for the 2026 Milan Cortina Olympics, which can transform from a windbreaker to a mid-weight puffer with the push of a button. “You’re able to take a jacket that looks like a windbreaker when it’s deflated, but when you add air to it, you’re able to take it all the way up to a mid-weight puffer,” said Danielle Ekayembe from Nike’s Apparel Innovation Team. “And so, instead of putting on so many layers and managing your warmth that way, you actually just have one garment that’s able to meet all of those insulation needs at the push of a button.”The jacket comes with a rechargeable pump and takes about 30 seconds to fully inflate. While the jacket is currently not available for purchase, Ekayembe said, “So this is specifically being gifted to Team USA. We’re really excited that we’re able to offer that. And then obviously, yes, we will eventually also be retailing this.”Nike first experimented with inflatable clothing 20 years ago, and this latest innovation marks a significant advancement in their apparel technology.
