NSAA Girls’ State Wrestling wrapped up on Wednesday.The semifinals were action packed, featuring the best of the best in the state.Wrestling at 100 pounds, Westside’s Mara Vanderpool placed second in 2025, but after getting the pin in the semis, she has a chance for gold this year.From Bennington, Mia Anderson was looking for back-to-back state titles.She trailed early, but a pin from the junior advanced her to the state final.Skutt’s Kaylyn Harrill, competing at 120 pounds, is one step closer to her third-straight state title.Then Westview’s Kaylynn Lyons won a state title in 2025 and has medaled all three years she has competed, and this year may be no different. She was cool, calm, and collected on her pin for a chance at going back-to-back.Lyons’ teammate Kiana Hector was down 12-6, but she was able to capture the pin with one second left to win it. Bellevue East’s Farrin Thiemann, competing at 145 pounds, got the pin in the semis, while Kaliyah Evans got emotional after pinning her opponent. This will be her first chance at a state title.
