The Ohio State University will soon be under new leadership.Announced by the school Monday, the Ohio State University Board of Trustees has accepted the resignation of university president Walter “Ted” Carter Jr.According to the school, Carter recently disclosed that he had an “inappropriate relationship,” with someone seeking public resources to support her personal business and offered to resign.“For personal reasons, I have made the difficult decision to resign from my role as president of The Ohio State University,” Carter said in a statement from the university. “I disclosed to the board of trustees that I made a mistake in allowing inappropriate access to Ohio State leadership.”Carter was announced as OSU’s 17th president in August of 2023, and his tenure began on Jan. 2024. Ohio State’s trustee board says they are appreciative of “the president’s contributions to the university” over his tenure.
