Omaha police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who allegedly set a car on fire at 24th and O streets, causing about $3,000 in damage. The incident was caught on surveillance video during evening rush hour on Jan. 27.The suspect’s vehicle and the victim’s vehicle can be seen next to each other. The video captures the sound of glass shattering and a few seconds later, a suspect in dark clothing leaves the passenger side of the victim’s vehicle. Although the suspect’s face is difficult to discern, police have a clear image of his car. It’s a beat-up mid-2000s maroon Chevy Tahoe with a damaged bumper, heavily tinted windows, a faded white area on the driver’s door and black wheels. Investigators have seized the vehicle but have not yet found the driver.
