LAST MONTH’S THEME WAS INWARD AND ASKED OMAHA RESIDENTS TO THINK ABOUT HOW THEY COULD ADD MORE TO OMAHA’S NEIGHBORLY CULTURE. THE CITY SELECTED JOSE FLORES JUNIOR, THE PRESIDENT OF THE SOUTH OMAHA NEIGHBORHOOD ALLIANCE. MAYOR EWING SAYS HIS SELFLESSNESS AND COMMITMENT TO THE COMMUNITY HAS A RIPPLE EFFECT. HE SAYS NOW IT’S TIME FOR PEOPLE TO NOMINATE PEOPLE FOR THIS MONTH’S THEME, WHICH IS FAMILY. Omaha Mayor John Ewing Jr. has rolled out a new project this year to encourage neighborly behavior.January’s theme was “Inward,” and the project asked Omaha residents to think about how they could add more to the city’s neighborly culture.The city selected Jose Flores Jr., president of the South Omaha Neighborhood Alliance, for his selflessness and commitment to the community.
