An 18-year-old was critically hurt in a shooting early Wednesday.Investigators say the shooting happened in south Omaha near 13th and I streets just before 1:30 a.m.Omaha police said the teen was shot in the leg and taken to Nebraska Medicine in critical but stable condition. Officers found a man matching the suspect’s description at the scene, Omaha police said. The man, identified as 22-year-old Daniel Navarro, was taken into custody for first-degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony, possession of a gun by a prohibited person and assault causing bodily injury. They do believe the 18-year-old walked from the scene to an alley where he was found.Investigators are still working to determine what caused the gunfire, but say there is no threat to the public.
