Omaha police pulled over and ticketed Terence Crawford for suspicion of driving through a red light on Saturday. He was ticketed by officers around 2:30 Saturday afternoon. According to the citation, Crawford told the officer that he was on his way to watch his son compete at the Nebraska State Wrestling Championships.The citation states an officer was parked on the northwest corner facing southbound near 14th and Capitol. That’s where, the citation says, the officer saw a vehicle traveling southbound at “estimated over 50 MPH.” The officer wrote in the citation the light then turned “solid red prior to vehicle reaching intersection and went through without braking. Then stopped at solid red at Dodge, but proceeded through the light after traffic cleared.” According to the citation the vehicle then traveled eastbound on Douglas, “passed multiple other vehicles before going down 8th St. where he was stopped.” According to the officers’ description in the citation, Crawford asked “what red light he ran,” and the officer explained “the two lights.” That’s when the officer says Crawford told him he was going to watch his son wrestle. Crawford is currently awaiting an April trial date for a careless driving charge from September. Crawford has pleaded not guilty to that charge.
