Now shifting to crime, President Trump claimed the murder rate had *** historic decline, and last year the murder rate saw its single largest decline. In recorded history, this is the biggest decline. Think of it in recorded history, the lowest number in over 125 years. This needs more context. Experts told our partners at PolitiFact the final 2025 murder rate could be the lowest in at least 65 years based on FBI data and measurements. But they’re cautious about going any further back in time, saying the data was inconsistent in the early 1900s and not comparable. President Trump also addressing *** claim that investment is flooding into the United States. In 12 months, I secured commitments for more than $18 trillion pouring in from all over the globe. We were able to count 52 records for at least the S&P. Now the claim that mortgage rates are at the lowest that they’ve been in in 4 years is actually false.
