HE ENLISTED IN THE ARMY RESERVES IN 2012 AND PREVIOUSLY DEPLOYED TO KUWAIT IN 2019. O’BRIEN RECEIVED NUMEROUS AWARDS, INCLUDING THE NATIONAL DEFENSE SERVICE MEDAL. GOVERNOR KIM REYNOLDS SAYS SHE IS HEARTBROKEN THAT ANOTHER IOWAN HAS DIED, AND OFFERED PRAYERS FOR O’BRIEN’S FAMILY. SENATOR JONI ERNST SAYS THE NATION OWES THE FALLEN SOLDIERS AN INCREDIBLE DEBT OF GRATITUDE THAT CAN NEVER BE REPAID. The Pentagon has now identified the fifth soldier killed in a drone strike in Kuwait on Sunday.The Army Reserve soldiers were killed Sunday when a drone hit a command center in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait. The incident was just a day after the U.S. and Israel launched their military campaign against Iran, which launched retaliatory strikes.The Department of War said Maj. Jeffrey O’Brien from Waukee, Iowa, was among those killed.The other soldiers who have been identified are:Sgt. Declan J. Coady, 20, of West Des MoinesCapt. Cody A.
