Sen. Mitch McConnell discharged from hospital after 8-day stay for ‘flu-like symptoms’
Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell has been released from the hospital after an eight-day stay for “flu-like symptoms.”McConnell checked himself into the hospital on Feb. 3 out of “an abundance of caution.” “Senator McConnell was discharged from the hospital yesterday and is grateful for the outstanding care he received. He is feeling better and will be working from home this week on the advice of his doctors,” a spokesperson for McConnell told sister station WLKY.McConnell’s team said he was in regular contact with his team during his stay at the hospital. They had said his “prognosis was positive” after he checked into care. McConnell announced on his 83rd birthday that he would not be seeking re-election in 2026. He is the longest-serving party leader in U.S. history, first taking office in 1985.He has suffered multiple other health scares, including several falls, over the past few years.
