Team USA’s Chock and Bates take silver medal in ice dance for matador-themed performance

The month of December started with skaters Madison Shock and Evan Bates in *** familiar spot, topping both the rhythm dance and free dance competitions to win their 3rd consecutive Grand Prix of ice skating title. You see like this kind of intimidating look, and Mattie and Mattie and I get so intense and. It’s just the passion that we have for what we love and what we do. Loving their sport has resulted in the pair becoming three-time world champions, Olympic gold medalists, and one of the most decorated American ice dance teams in history. Off the ice, they fell in love and were married in 2024. It’s just been *** blessing to get to skate. Together and to do what we love with the person that we love. So while lifts, spins, and flawless choreography come easy, perfecting the timing of *** wedding created *** level of difficulty. *** lot of Olympic athletes really put *** lot of life events on hold for *** long time, so we felt really grateful for the opportunity to. You know, squeeze in *** wedding and get married after 10 years of dating. And once the honeymoon in Hawaii was over, it was right back to the ice to prepare for Italy. Well, I think when we’re training, it’s very skating centric. Everything is focused around wellness, recovery, being primed for training, so it’s like eat, sleep, skate, repeat, and hang out with our toy poodles. They’re our biggest supporters and our fiercest training mates. They come to the rink with us almost every day. And just boost the morale around the rink. It’s so fun to see them running around and greeting everyone. Unfortunately, the toy poodles won’t be making the trip to Italy, but the couple says *** large family contingent, including parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins, will all be there cheering them on. On the road to Milan Cortina, I’m Fletcher Mackel.
