The high-energy stunts of The Canine Stars were showcased at the Omaha Home & Garden Expo at the CHI Health Center.The stunt dog show features rescue dogs of all breeds and sizes performing tricks like Frisbee routines, high jumps, dock diving, agility courses and even dance moves. The group travels across North America, bringing together trainers and their own pet dogs to put on family-friendly performances.“We do it to basically inspire people to adopt their next dog and then be active with their dogs,” said Keri Caraher, president of The Canine Stars. “We want kids to go home after watching the show and start training their dogs, maybe playing some Frisbee or getting into dog sports.”Caraher said every dog in the show is a rescue and is trained based on its individual strengths and personality. Some dogs thrive in high-energy sports like frisbee and dock diving, while others prefer tricks, agility, or dance routines.Beyond the entertainment, the mission is to encourage adoption. Caraher said shelters are full of dogs waiting for homes, and adopting can be a life-changing experience for both pets and families.The Canine Stars previously appeared on “America’s Got Talent” in 2021 and have continued touring nationwide ever since. At the expo, families can see the rescue dogs in action and learn more about the importance of staying active with their pets.
