Top headlines to start your day in under 60 seconds. Overnight, *** person is held against their will at an apartment complex. It escalated into an hours-long barricade situation with Omaha police. Now this was near 96th and Park, just south of Q Street. Police haven’t said what kind of weapon was used, but they got the victim out safely. It took nearly 5 hours and the use of *** distraction device to get the suspect out. Officers then took them into custody. In other news, Omaha officials investigate the cause of the sinkhole near Pacific. Street City engineer Austin Ruser says that the cause of that was pressurized water, which came from *** water main break, claiming that the Metropolitan Utilities District, or MUD, is responsible for maintaining those water mains. However, MUD responded, saying it’s too early to know what caused it. Well, Omaha’s saying they’re running out of space to expand, and they want your help, so they put out *** survey.
