The Nebraska Chamber of Commerce and Industry announced Wednesday that it will begin a search for its next leader. The chamber has been a key voice for business in Nebraska since 1912.

Bingham reportedly resigned last week. The chamber’s announcement offered no reason for his departure. A chamber spokesperson said the organization could not comment on a personnel issue.

According to a brief media statement, Chamber board chair Pat Keenan told board members of the departure Wednesday.

Bingham was selected for the top position in April 2025 by a search committee that included state chamber board members and business leaders and assumed the post in mid-May.

He replaced Bryan Slone, who had been president and CEO for about seven years.

Bingham came to Nebraska with 30 years of experience as a registered lobbyist and following lengthy service in Utah and various business associations. He had been an advocate for business and industry, specializing in governmental and regulatory affairs.
