South Carolina State University officials say a shooting at a residential complex on campus left two people dead and another injured. The campus in Orangeburg was put on lockdown around 9:15 p.m. Thursday when a shooting was reported in an apartment at the Hugine Suites student residential complex. The lockdown was lifted early Friday after nearly eight hours.The State Law Enforcement Division, SLED, is on site and actively investigating. University officials have yet to confirm the victims’ identities or the condition of the wounded person. All classes have been canceled for Friday, and the university says counselors are available to students.
