MARYLAND. IT’S UNCLEAR WHEN HE’LL BE BACK IN IOWA. THE OMAHA INLAND PORT AUTHORITY SHARES ITS RESULTS FROM A COMMUNITY WIDE SURVEY. PORT AUTHORITIES WERE CREATED BY A STATE LAW PASSED A FEW YEARS AGO. THE GOAL IS TO INCENTIVIZE DEVELOPMENT, OMAHA’S PORT AUTHORITY SAYS ITS SURVEY FOUND THE COMMUNITY WANTED MORE INFORMATION ON ITS PROJECTS, WHETHER THAT BE MORE MEETINGS OR INFORMATION THAT CAN BE FOUND ON SOCIAL MEDIA. WE WANT TO BE ALL OVER THE PLACE, WITHIN OUR BOUNDARY AND OUTSIDE OF OUR BOUNDARY, MAKING SURE THAT COMMUNITY LEADERS, PARTNERS AND CITIZENS HAVE A CHANCE TO ASK US QUESTIONS AND GET INFORMATION. The Omaha Inland Port Authority shared results of its Community Advisory Committee (CAC) survey Tuesday. Nebraska senators passed the Municipal Inland Port Authority Act, creating the public entities. The goal is to incentivize and stimulate economic development on commercial and industrial sites. Omaha’s Inland Port Authority was established in 2024. Its two major projects include the Airport Business Park and the Innovation District. According to the Authority, the community survey identified residents’ top priorities, concerns on communication and neighborhood impact and opportunities for the Authority to communicate more effectively. “We want to be all over the place, within our boundary and outside of our boundary, making sure that community leaders, partners and citizens have a chance to ask us questions and get information,” said Executive Director Gary Clark.To find the latest project updates, frequently asked questions and other information about the Omaha Inland Port Authority, click here.
