IT’S A GREAT CAUSE THAT INCLUDES BELLEVUE EAST UNIFIED BASKETBALL TEAM. KETV NEWSWATCH 7 PETE CUDDIHY REPORTS ON THE BOND THIS PROGRAM CREATES BOTH ON AND OFF THE COURT. WITH EVERY MADE BASKET. CHEERS OF SUPPORT RING OUT FOR KANE AND THE REST OF BELLEVUE EAST’S UNIFIED BASKETBALL TEAM. ARE WE GOING TO WIN A LOT OF GAMES? YES. ATHLETES LIKE RODERICK HIKE MATCH UP WITH STUDENTS LIKE CLINKLE, HELPING THEM FIND THEIR PLACE ON THE COURT. I TRIED TO GET A LOT OF MY FRIENDS TO JOIN BECAUSE, YOU KNOW, IT WOULD BE REALLY FUN. IT WOULD BE GOOD FOR THEM. THE TEAMMATES BUILD A GENUINE FRIENDSHIP THAT GOES BEYOND AN ASSIST ON THE HARDWOOD. EVEN LIKE SEEING THEM IN THE HALLWAYS OR AT LUNCH, I ALWAYS LOVE TALKING TO THEM. SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER RACHEL EDDIE COACHES THE TEAM JUST IS A GOOD COMMUNITY BUILDING OPPORTUNITY AND A WAY TO TO SERVE AND TO GIVE BACK TO SOMETHING THAT’S REALLY SPECIAL AND MAKING A BIG IMPACT IN IN THE SCHOOLS. SEEING HER STUDENTS GROW IN FRONT OF HER EYES. I THINK EVERY SPACE SHOULD BE LIKE THIS WHERE JUST PEOPLE SINCERELY CARE ABOUT ONE ANOTHER AND WANT THE BEST FOR EACH OTHER. IF YOU WANT TO SEE, LIKE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PICTURE OF LIKE HUMANS HELPING HUMANS, YOU SHOULD GO TO A UNIFIED EVENT BECAUSE IT’S ABOUT MORE THAN MAKING BASKETS. WE’RE HERE TO HAVE FUN, SHE SAYS.
