Throughout the day, employees spoke with representatives, asked questions and explored ways to get involved, from volunteering to continued financial support. Their feedback will ultimately help determine which organization receives an additional $10,000 investment.

But there was also a surprise for everyone involved.

Each of the five nonprofits walked away with $10,000, recognizing the work they are already doing to serve the community.

Organizers say the initiative highlights a unique aspect of Cox Charities — its employee-driven approach. Much of the funding comes directly from employees who choose to give, creating a culture centered on service and local impact.

Company leaders say that commitment goes beyond writing checks. Employees are encouraged to spend time researching organizations, building relationships and understanding the needs within the community.

The result, they say, is a stronger connection between the company and the people it serves, one that continues to grow through both financial support and hands-on involvement.
