And so this is *** huge move, leaving the US Senate, which is Considered, of course, *** prime job in Washington DC to run the Department of Homeland Security. The president saying that Mark Wayne Mullen has done *** tremendous job representing the wonderful people of Oklahoma, saying that he will work tirelessly to keep our border secure, stop migrant crime, murderers, and other criminals from illegally entering our country. Trump announced that Noem will be moving from her position as secretary to a role with the “Special Envoy for the Shields of Americas,” a new security initiative in the Western Hemisphere.Mullin was sworn into the Senate in January of 2023. He previously served in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Oklahoma’s 2nd Congressional District for 10 years.Oklahoma’s junior senator grew up in Westville, where his family founded Mullin Plumbing. He took over the business from his father before entering the world of politics.He is also a member of the Cherokee Nation.Mullin has made headlines during his time on Capitol Hill, including most recently during Trump’s State of the Union address, when he tried to grab a sign from Rep.
