MIA ANDERSON ENTERED THE STATE TOURNAMENT WITH JUST ONE LOSS ON THE YEAR, WHICH IS PRETTY IMPRESSIVE WHEN YOU THROW IN A SHOULDER INJURY THAT HAPPENED LAST SUMMER AND WAS RE-AGGRAVATED IN DECEMBER. I MEAN, I DON’T REALLY FEEL IT IN THE MATCH, SO THAT DOESN’T REALLY MATTER TO ME. SHE’S A SUPER COMPETITOR, SO THERE’S NO WAY SHE WOULD LET YOU KNOW SOMETHING LIKE THAT. IT WAS A MATTER OF LIKE, OKAY, WHAT IS IT? AND WHAT DO WE DO TO GO THROUGH THE WHOLE SEASON? THERE WAS NEVER A THOUGHT OF HANGING IT UP FOR THE SEASON AND NOT WRESTLING THE SEPARATED SHOULDER. NOT A PROBLEM THIS YEAR, DESPITE ONE TECH FALL DURING THE SEASON, ANDERSON HAS PINNED EVERY OPPONENT SHE’S DEFEATED THIS YEAR. THAT INCLUDED WEDNESDAY’S STATE SEMIFINAL ROUND. YOU KNOW, I’VE WORKED ALL SEASON REALLY HARD, YOU KNOW, THROUGH INJURIES, THROUGH SICKNESS, THROUGH ALL THIS STUFF. LIKE IT WOULD MEAN A LOT. YOU KNOW, I PUT IN A BUNCH OF HARD WORK. ANDERSON ENTERED THE STATE TOURNAMENT WITH THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME THE BADGERS NEXT FOUR TIME STATE CHAMPION, RIDING A STREAK OF 18 CONSECUTIVE FIRST PERIOD FALLS, ALL WITH HER SHOULDER STILL WRAPPED UP.
