BELLEVUE, Neb. —

Bellevue West grad Jaxon Jelkin is heading east after being selected in the MLB Draft.

The Kentucky pitcher was chosen in the fourth round of the draft on Saturday by the Philadelphia Phillies.

During his 2026 season, Jelkin struck out 106 in 97.0 innings to become the second Wildcat in the past 15 years to strike out 100 or more batters in a single season.

Prior to Kentucky, he played for South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Arizona in 2023 and Nebraska in 2022.
