THIS WAS DURING A STUDENT LED ANTI ICE PROTEST ON JANUARY 29TH. ACCORDING TO THE CRASH REPORT, THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED ON LINCOLN AVENUE OUTSIDE FREMONT HIGH SCHOOL WHEN THE DRIVER EXITED THE VEHICLE TO CONFRONT A PERSON WHO ATTEMPTED TO DAMAGE THE VEHICLE. THAT DRIVER THEN GOT BACK INTO THE CAR, STARTED TO DRIVE OFF, AND COLLIDED WITH A PEDESTRIAN PROTESTER. ACCORDING TO THE REPORT, THE DRIVER TOLD OFFICERS HE WAS, QUOTE, FEARFUL OF BEING HURT BY PROTESTERS AND THAT’S WHY HE LEFT THE SCENE OF THE ACCIDENT.

A Fremont police crash report provides new details after a student was injured when they were hit by a vehicle outside of Fremont High School during a student-led demonstration.According to the crash report, the vehicle was stopped on Lincoln Avenue outside Fremont High School during the anti-ICE protest on Jan. 29. The driver of the vehicle exited the vehicle to confront a person who attempted to damage the vehicle, the crash report states. They then got back into the vehicle and started to drive northbound. According to the crash report, when the driver was located, they told officers that they were “fearful” of being hurt by protesters if they had stopped.The juvenile driver accused in the crash was cited for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, Fremont police said.According to the crash report, the student was in the roadway improperly.
