It was a school visit that five siblings in Carroll County, Iowa, were not expecting. That’s because it was from their dad, Iowa Army National Guard soldier Sgt. 1st Class Nathan Bruch, who they thought was still deployed in Iraq.Little did they know, Bruch was one of the 145 soldiers who returned from their 10-month deployment on Wednesday in Des Moines.One by one, Bruch went to the classrooms of his four oldest kids at Ar-We-Va Community School in Westside, surprising the 6-, 7-, 10-, and 11-year-olds. He also went to his 2-year-old’s day care, where he was greeted by his daughter yelling, “Daddy,” before running into his arms.
