An Iowa jury convicted a man Monday in a deadly stabbing in 2025. A jury found Yudiel Vega-Blanco guilty of first-degree murder and willful injury causing bodily injury. Greenfield police arrested Vega-Blanco in April 2025 at a home in Greenfield. Court documents alleged he stabbed Carlos Garcia Escalona in the chest with a knife from the kitchen. Escalona died at the scene.A second person inside the home was hurt but survived. No sentencing date has been set yet for Vega-Blanco.
