THE SUSPECT IS A 45 YEAR OLD MAN, ANDREW EMERALD FROM GREAT BARRINGTON. PROSECUTORS SAY THAT HE POSTED ON SOCIAL MEDIA THREATENING TO HURT AND KILL THE PRESIDENT. EMERALD WAS ARRESTED THIS MORNING, AND HE JUST MADE HIS INITIAL APPEARANCE IN FEDERAL COURT IN SPRINGFIELD FROM MAY TO JULY OF LAST YEAR. PROSECUTORS SAY THAT HE MADE EIGHT SEPARATE POSTS ON FACEBOOK. MANY OF THOSE POSTS ARE FILLED WITH SWEARS, SO WE CAN’T SHOW THEM ON TELEVISION. BUT THERE ARE SOME THAT WE CAN SHARE WITH YOU. AND ACCORDING TO COURT DOCUMENTS, ONE OF THE POSTS SAID, AND I’M QUOTING HERE IN PART, EITHER TRUMP IS DEAD AND IN THE GROUND BY 2026, OR I AM HUNTING HIM DOWN AND PUTTING HIM THERE. A Massachusetts man faces federal charges for allegedly posting threats against President Donald Trump on social media. Andrew D. Emerald, 45, of Great Barrington, is accused of posting eight threatening messages on Facebook from May to July of 2025, according to Massachusetts U.S. Attorney Leah Foley’s office. He was arrested on Wednesday morning. “I won’t be murdering you I will be executing a monster,” the alleged June message stated. “I’m coming for you personally,” the alleged July message included. Emerald was indicted by a federal grand jury on eight counts of interstate transmission of threatening communications. Each count carries a potential sentence of up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and a fine of $250,000.
