Omaha Mayor John Ewing Jr. began accepting applications for his youth advisory council on Friday.He said it’s an initiative to elevate high school students and get them involved in the city’s future. Ewing said the council is open to juniors and seniors for the 2026-27 school year. They will be chosen from all Omaha-area schools. Each chosen student will find an issue the city should focus on. “It reflects the fundamental belief in governing with people rather to people.
