Omaha softball adds two more victories to its season, defeats Iowa State and UNI Saturday

UNO will be back on the mound on Feb. 13 when the team will travel to San Diego to face Utah Tech at 11 a.m. followed by Southern Utah at 1:30 p.m.

It was day two of the UNI Dome Tournament for UNO softball on Saturday.The Mavs were coming off a pair of wins on Friday.READ MORE: ‘Happy opening day’: UNO softball wins big in first doubleheader of the seasonIt was another doubleheader for Omaha as they prepared to face Iowa State once again in the early game before facing off against Northern Iowa on Saturday.The Mavericks got on the board first after an RBI single from Katherine Johnson in the top of the first.Emma Durr hit a two-run homer to extend the Maverick lead to 3-0.The Cyclones were able to get on the board in the fourth inning to cut Omaha’s lead to one point.Bailey Sample scored on a fielding error in the top of the fifth. UNO led 4-2.Johnson scored on an RBI single from Marra Cramer to make it a 5-2 game in the top of the fifth.Iowa State wasn’t able to cut the deficit enough to send the game into extra innings. Omaha won 5-4.Next up for the Mavs was Northern Iowa.The Mavs got on the board in the top of the third thanks to an RBI single from Taylor Sedlacek, who brought in Rylee White.
