Wai Ching Ho, Marvel villain and Pixar voice actress, dead at 82

Wai Ching Ho, a Hong Kong-born actress known for her roles as an iconic Marvel villain and a Pixar voice actress, has died.
She was 82.

Multiple media outlets as well as former co-stars confirm that Ho died peacefully Friday of a stroke.

Ho was perhaps best known for her role as the mysterious crime boss Madame Gao in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in franchise series “Daredevil,” “Iron Fist” and “The Defenders.”
She also voiced Grandma Wu in Pixar’s Oscar-nominated animated film “Turning Red.”
Ho had several television credits to her name as well, appearing in series such as “Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens,” “Fresh Off the Boat,” “Law & Order,” “Orange Is the New Black” and “Only Murders in the Building.”


Multiple former co-stars paid tribute to Ho on social media.
“Daredevil” co-star Peter Shinkoda said on Instagram, “I won’t ever forget you. I learned every minute from you when we were together on and off set. I know wisdom – I’d hang on your every word. We will meet again, my friend. You were beautiful.”
Actor Perry Yung also shared a tribute to Ho, saying in part, “Wai Ching was a kind, compassionate human being whose work as an artist lifted every production to a higher standard, and we are better for it. Rest in power dear friend.”
