Firefighters responded to an HVAC fire at a building in Midtown Manhattan on Tuesday.Firefighters were battling the high-rise fire with black smoke billowing into the air. Video shows the smoke pouring out of a roof near East 43rd Street, between Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue, just a block from the start of the New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The New York Fire Department said that the blaze may have occurred due to something involving the rooftop HVAC system. It took over an hour to get the fire under control, and it did not seem to affect the St. Patrick’s Day Parade.According to reports, an EMS lieutenant and a police officer suffered minor injuries due to smoke.
