The program, organized by the Western Iowa Development Association (WIDA), runs during the summer and includes participation from various businesses and communities in the region.

Kim Canada, owner of Frosting Inc. in Walnut, shared how the program has impacted her business. “The passport program has really brought people in,” Canada said.

Participants can also win prizes as part of the program, which aims to turn scenic detours into meaningful support for local economies.

WIDA Executive Director Stacie Kinney says to be sure to scan the QR code on the first page of the passport to get started. The program runs until Labor Day weekend (September 14, 2026).

For more information and/or to pick up a passport, travelers are encouraged to visit participating businesses or Unleash Council Bluffs.
